Lora has been very personable, accommodating
and a pleasure to work with. She has gone above and beyond to help my daughter to become a more accomplished rider as
well as a considerate, responsible young woman. Lora has also worked with my two sons. All of my kids enjoyed
their lessons, learned a lot and Lora was very good with their individual personalities, abilities, and needs.
Lora also
spent her personal time helping us to find a horse that fit our needs and taking my daughter to the Midwest Horse Fair
as well as other horse related "field trips". She has assisted my daughter at shows and quickly became indispensable
to me and my daughter. Lora is very knowledgeable about shows, training, tack and success in the show ring.
Lora has become a caring and beloved mentor to my daughter.

When I met Lora over a year ago I was terrified of horses! I remember our first lesson, I was so nervous
I got lost on the way there! Lora had the horse tied up in the stable walkway and I remember thinking, "he's so big!" Lora
invited me to assist with grooming and placing his bridle and saddle on. I really did not want to be that close to him, I
was shaking and very tentative about walking under his head and around his back side. Lora kept educating me throughout
the entire process and before I knew it I was walking around him following Lora to see what she was explaining. Lora rode
the horse around the indoor arena before inviting me to get on. As I watched her warm up, I kept thinking, "there
is no way I will ever be able to ride like that"! Before I knew it I was atop a very large horse, I felt very vulnerable,
and not in control what-so-ever! Lora told me that our first lesson would be focused on safety... I was happy about that!
Lora taught me essential communication techniques between me and the horse, emergency stopping, and proper body posture which
sends a confident message to the horse. I had none of this going for me when I began lessons with Lora, sometimes I wonder
why I even contacted her, my fear was that great! However, over several months Lora brought me from quivering, tentative
to confident and assertive. The transformation was empowering! Not only did I learn a great deal about horses and their behaviors,
I learned even more about myself! Lora's impeccable teaching techniques have changed me forever, I never would have
imagined that learning how to ride a horse would be a mirror back at myself, my confidence, my assertiveness, and how I carry
myself. I have been transformed internally and externally, far more therapeutically than any psychiatric counseling could
ever be! I have followed Lora to a different stable now, riding a beautiful, sweet, and sensitive horse Lora owns
named CJ. I have fallen in love with him and Lora, this dynamic duo has brought me from walking in a western saddle unable
to grasp the concept of posting, to riding in an English saddle with a crop in one hand. I am also cantering, as
well as finally posting, while engaging a faster trot at the same time! I always tell Lora at the end of our lessons,
"I feel ten feet tall"! And, "I really should be paying you more!" Lora is so encouraging, and powerful in her teaching; don't
know exactly how she does it but during every lesson she manages to subtly guide me to a more advanced level, she is The Human
Whisperer! I am so grateful for her passion of horses, and her patience and confidence building in humans! Forever grateful,
transformed, and I can now say that I am able to ride almost like I observed Lora ride before my first lesson!

After graduating veterinary school and spending a few years in a residency program, I was able to turn
my sights on finding a horse. I still had a busy work schedule, and was in search of a horse who was sensible and kind, and
who didn't need heavy work 5-6 days a week. I obtained Mia as a well-mannered, nicely broke 8 year old Quarter Horse mare.
She had good basic western training on her at the time, but was a pasture pet for the past year. I figured we could work together
on hunt seat, jumping, dressage and some outoor riding.
She was excellent for the first 4 months that I had her. She was quiet, intelligent, and eager to please.
We were working on dressage. Last May (2004), she seemed somewhat nervous in the indoor arena, with the high winds and the
banging doors. Within a minute after mounting, she abruptly started bucking. I had ridden horses which buck intermittently,
or rear before, yet had never been on the receiving end of bucking worthy of an unbroken rodeo bronco. Needless to say, after
about 4 of these, with no end in sight, I came off and landed hard on my tailbone. I couldn't walk, let alone ride, for 3-4
weeks.
Figuring this was a fluke, a couple friends (both experienced riders who have worked with green horses) offered
to ride her for me while I was recuperating. After watching Mia allow them to mount and get settled, and then unleash the
bronco bucking within a couple minutes, I realized I had a significant behavioral problem on my hands and had to seek help.
This was definitely out of my league. She would saddle and lunge perfectly, and maintained excellent ground manners. But,
look out when someone mounted! I even had another veterinarian examine her to check for soreness or injury after I could repeatedly
find nothing.
I spoke to several trainers who had interesting ideas of how to tie her head to her tail or lunging her at
a canter or gallop for an hour prior to mounting, even a suggestion to place a rope in her mouth. No one wanted to try to
ride. Anyway, these did not sound like great ideas for a horse that only misbehaved (though severely) once ridden. I was beginning
to think that I would need a cowboy to help me.
I finally found Lora Williams on recommendation from another boarder at the barn. She said Lora dealt well
with problem horses, so I called. Lora listened to me carefully rather than quickly suggesting what would "fix" the problem
and then set up a time so she could meet Mia. She looked her over for bumps or soreness, and then asked if she could place
a roping saddle on her and start her back to a few basics. Lora worked with my horse very slowly, quietly, yet firmly. In
only one session, we were both riding her. Mia can be very stubborn; and without fighting any epic battles, she had the horse
back to work with a great attitude. I have accomplished more with Mia in the past few months than I thought was possible.
We are consistently moving forward with steady improvement. Don't get me wrong, I found a very smart and stubborn mare and
she still provides new challenges every day, but nothing like what she did this past May. We are both enjoying our new partnership,
thanks to Lora.
Sincerely,
Kristen Temo, DVM"

We met Lora shortly after we purchased our first horse, Zee, in 2006. Soon after we purchased him,
Zee began testing us, developing poor ground manners and an overall rebellious manner (inasmuch a lazy horse can be rebellious).
Lora taught both of us why his ground manners had worsened, how a horse thinks and how we needed to think when addressing
the problem and working with him.
Zee also demonstrated a somewhat defiant attitude under saddle (poor transitions, general laziness and poor steering).
He was known to just lay down in the arena when he didn’t feel like working anymore. Lora identified the root of his
poor attitude, and with each lesson it improved to the point he began enjoying his work (and has become an enjoyable horse
to ride and work from the ground). Everybody agrees Zee looks and acts like a different horse than he did in 2006.
Notably, Lora’s training did not involve use of any gadgets, harsh bits or brute force. We continue to ride him in
a full cheek snaffle. It was satisfying to see Zee’s gradual improvement, and was just as satisfying that we were involved
each step of the way.

My nine year old son, Michael, started taking lessons with Lora & CJ at the end of September, 2008. Michael's
only experience on horse back was one trail ride and a season of 4H Horseless Horse Leadline, where the horse is led around,
much like a pony ride. He was very nervous when he started his lessons, but Lora and CJ quickly
put Michael at ease. Lora's training is customized to the rider's comfort level and abilities. Something that
was very important to me. CJ is an incredibly well trained horse possessing a calm, level head.
Lora is very easy to deal with and has been extremely flexible with our scheduling. I highly recommend this duo to anyone
interested in giving themselves or their children a positive horse learning experience. Sincerely, Cindy

We are so glad we found Lora Williams for a trainer. Kaelyn is twelve and Lindsey is nine and they just love Lora.
She is so kind and patient and never gets frustrated with them. If she does, she doesn't let them know it. CJ
is the best lesson horse ever! I know that when my girls are riding him, I can trust that he will take good care of
them. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body! Kaelyn and Lindsey have been taking lessons on CJ since September
2008 and they have come so far. I am so proud of them! Thank you Lora and CJ for taking such good care of us.
You are a true gift to the horse world and to anyone who comes in contact with you. Lori, Kaelyn, and
Lindsey.
